COURSE DESCRIPTION
  • The development of attachment in pregnancy and infancy.
  • How attachment impacts on brain development.
  • Working with substance misusing parents and their infants.
  • Working with mentally ill parents and their infants.
  • Helping parents to develop 'mindful parenting' skills.
  • How to help parents and babies when they are finding it 'hard to bond'.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Delegates will learn about

  • The importance of attachment.
  • The development of attachment including the impact of this on brain development.
  • How parental stress impacts on the infant.
  • How attachment can be facilitated.
  • Some practical skills that can facilitate the development of attachment.

Certificates of attendance will be issued.
