They met when they shared a job in a community CAMHS clinic and together have developed their thinking about mental health across the ages. Shirley was a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry for 18 years and has extensive clinical experience in generic CAMHS clinics with a special interest in Infant Mental Health and Attachment. She has been Chair of AIMH UK and a Board Member for IASA (the International Association for the Study of Attachment). Shirley is on the Perintal Section of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Executive Committee and the Mindful Policy Group. In addition Shirley has developed significant expertise as an expert witness, particularly in cases where attachment issues have been to the fore. As a Clinical Director Shirley has, in addition to clinical skills, developed her knowledge and abilities as manager and solution focussed coach. Shirley has regularly offered training, about mental health issues in infancy, childhood and as a parent, in her local area, nationally and internationally. At present she is chair of the local organising committee for WAIMH 2014, which will see the WAIMH Biannual Congress in Edinburgh. www.shirleygracias.co.uk Deborah has been a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry for 10 years and has extensive clinical experience in generic CAMHS clinics. Over the last 7 years, in Wiltshire and Bristol CAMHS Deborah has focussed on the development of CAMHS based treatment services for young people with Substance Misuse Disorders. In both services she has treated young people with multiple risks and she has also worked with young parents their infants where substance-misuse is an issue, so has been involved in assessing parenting issues in the context of child protection proceedings. Deborah contributes to a small special interest group of psychiatrists working in the field of young people’s substance misuse, based at The Royal College of Psychiatrists. She has delivered presentations nationally and internationally on the subject of developing services for young people with substance misuse problems and has developed as a trainer, both within the NHS and as a partner in INCITE. Together Shirley & Deborah share an interest in issues relating to the interplay between Infant Mental Health and Substance Misuse. They are also developing a life cycle approach to ADHD. Together they have established an exciting new Social Enterprise, Families Inc.CIC, which will offer innovative Clinical Services in these areas. Bookings are currently being taken for the new ADHD Lifespan Clinic in Bristol.
